Viktoria of Blood |
I don't quite collect a second faction now; but I did pick up a lot of second hand mercenaries from ebay. I've painted up the Viktorias stuff. Even though I don't intend to play Outcasts, I painted up the non mercenary models. I used to have an Escher gang for Necromunda, and painting up these ladies scratched a lot of the same itch. I think these plastic Viktorias are lovely sculpts. I find it interesting that the Vik of Blood, the copy, is far more naked then the human Vik of ash. It's an interesting idea that if it not the body you owned you'd be more comfortable weaponizing it as a distraction.

This little totem was fun to paint. I'm not convinced I will ever use her, she's very expensive as a mercenary. Even in an outcast crew I think most people advocate the Malifaux child.
Ronin. These are lovely both in terms of the models and the rules. Even in Neverborn they are an exceptionally useful hire. They compare well with illuminated which are the same cost. I do play a lot of games against my wife who plays Arcaneists so the ignores armour is almost always a good choice. They were fun to paint, it's good to paint models which are very non-uniform. The next set of miniatures in my painting queue are the Freicorp guys, so that will be totally different.

Old metal Taylor is best Taylor. I did get the plastic one in my job lot, however when this metal one came up on ebay I just had to go for it. Not used her in a game yet, but a relic hammer is frequently useful.

I know, I know, not a merc. However she came in the job lot so I thought I may as well paint her up. Not the most interesting model, but I think I did a good job on the blue magic-fire stuff.
