Ironskull's Boyz

I don't really like Orks. Orcs. Orruks. Green bald barbarian men. However, I had these guys knocking around due to wanting the shadespire cards, and I wanted something different to paint to refresh the creative particles. I decided to paint them in a slightly more realistic style rather then the comic book yellow style that Games Workshop use for their own Ironjaw's. I think it looks quite good, although I suppose the weapons do blend into the armour. I could have used some random black or gold or bronze or something to break it up, but there is always that tension between what colours would look good, and what colours things feel like they "should" be. This time common sense won out.

Gurzag Ironskull

The best thing about Gurzag Ironskull is that he has this big blue cape. I decided to go for blue as my accent colour because I always thought Deffskulz were the best 40k Ork clan so borrowed the bright blue.

Bonekutta

It was quite hard to try and get the random blue patches to look badly painted, without them being badly painted. I vaguely want it to look like the Orruk painted them himself, without it looking too obviously terrible. In the end I went for a fairly neat paint job but with a light silver highlight making the paint look rubbed away and worn.

Hakka

This guy has a cool blue jaw. I like that. I don't really have much to say about these guys because they arn't super 'my thing' but I still think I did a good job.

Basha

He is called basha cos he bashes stuff. But the leader is called Ironskull, but basha has an iron skull. Hmm.
